People want to know right off that they have come to the right place and that your site has what they are looking for.

Let your site visitors know why your business is unique and why they should do business with you as opposed to your competition.
 

Create content that educates & informs:
Create a site that contains useful information that visitors need and can use. The content should be well organized, easy to find and clearly written
 
Keep your content fresh:
Attract new visitors and keep them coming back for more. Offer a tip of the day or week on your home page.
 
Become an active participant:
Seek out appropriate newsgroups or online forums. Watch discussion threads and post helpful information. And be sure you understand the rules of conduct for the forum you participate in.
 
Make contact often with your clients:
Send out new information or product notices. Distribute a content rich newsletter with links back to your site.

Routine notices will help to reinforce your company branding and marketing efforts. And please, do not send unsolicited bulk e-mail or "spam".

Make sure people can find you:
Include your web address and e-mail address in all letterhead, promotional materials, business cards and advertisements. Make this a vital part of your marketing communications strategy.
 
Use an e-mail signature line:
In your signature line, include your company name, e-mail address, URL, and a short tag line. This is a very subtle way to remind users that your Website is out there.
